What it is about

Brass: Birmingham puts you in charge of a family business in the West Midlands between 1770 and 1870. You begin in the Canal Era, when moving coal and goods by water is the decisive advantage, and finish in the Rail Era, with faster networks and more demanding markets. There are no dice: everything depends on the cards you discard, the tiles you build and the links you open.

Unlike many euros, your actions do not happen in a vacuum: building a mine or an iron works can supply your rivals, and selling to a merchant can open markets you both use. That tension between competition and cooperation is what makes every game feel different.

The game is played over two eras. At the end of each one you score your links and flipped industries; between them, level 1 tiles are removed and the table is reset. The winner is the player with the most points after the Rail Era.
